Hunting season
The best time to hunt in South Africa is from April to October.
Rifle hunting
The minimum calibre for plains game is .270 and the minimum calibre for the Big Five is .375 (except with special arrangement). Accuracy is very important. We recommend to practice on your shooting ranch to get comfortable with your rifle. Your professional hunter (PH) will guide you which animal to shoot and where, but it is still you that is pulling the trigger.
Permits and procedure to import firearms to South Africa
The following documentation will be needed:
• SAP520 form
• Passport
• Airline Ticket
• Proof of ownership Firearm licenses
• Letter of invitation

Don’t have a rifle? Do not miss out on this experienced. If you don’t have a firearm or don’t want to use your own, you can rent a firearm at $35/day and ammunition at cost. Cross Bows are also available to rent at $35/day.
Bow hunting
We have several bow hunting areas with well-placed blinds and you can walk and stalk as well.
